AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS
Want to say goodbye to Oil, LPG & Gas bills?
If the answer to this question is 'yes' (and we assume it might be!), then it is worth considering investing in heat pump technology. An air source heat pump can replace your existing boiler to provide clean, green heat from the air. This means you can say goodbye to oil, LPG and gas bills.
Previously, heat pumps were reserved for properties with underfloor heating, but technical advancement means that we can offer you a solution for properties with radiator based heating also. We have teamed up with Mitsubishi to bring you the 'ecodan' range of heat pumps. The most technologically advanced heat pumps on the market, which are designed to work with radiator based systems.

The heat pump takes the air from outside, compresses it to an intense heat and this heats the water in your home.
You can therefore remove your oil, LPG or gas boiler and the bills that come with it.
The heat pump does requires electricity to run but is extremely efficient. For every unit of electricity fed into the heat pump unit you get at least three units of heating energy, on average 300% efficient. For every unit of oil or gas fed into the very latest 'A' rated oil or gas boiler, you only receive approximately 0.9 units of heating energy (90% efficient).
Therefore you are removing your oil, LPG or gas consumption and replacing it with a far smaller (and cheaper) consumption of electricity. If you also install Solar PV, your system will be even cheaper as you will be using free electricity to power your heat pump.
To work at maximum efficiency a heat pump needs to operate in a well insulated property, therefore insulated walls & loft and double glazed windows are desirable.
On average, if you currently pay £1,000 a year in oil bills, you would no longer pay this but your electricity bill may increase by approximately £400 - £500 (depending on whether you decide to install Solar PV also) - a net saving of approximately £500 - £600 per annum.
In addition to this saving, you may be able to apply for the Renewable Heat Incentive which could pay you an additional £850 per year for 20 years, index linked and tax free.
